Opticoms has been granted with 5G Local Spectrum by BNetzA

Opticoms is awarded with local spectrum usage in December 2020 with a bandwidth of 100 MHz between 3.6-3.7 GHz.

Opticoms has also taken its place in the list of very few local spectrum owners in Germany with BNetzA’s January publishment.

Opticoms is buildings a 5G lab in Munich with O-RAN and cloud core components. The aim is to bring O-RAN radio (incl. Non-RT / Near-RT RIC and SMO components) together with softwarised cloud core network solutions into its 5G lab environment for various industrial and operator use case development, system integration, solution testing, and value demonstration purposes. To foster the joint innovations with co-creation projects, it will be possible with this lab to design and deliver better suiting, cost effective, and scalable E2E private network solutions for German industry verticals in cooperation with tech vendors, IT solution partners, and telecom operators.
